LASHES Tricks

 My daughter have full and dark eyelashes.

 Although she is gifted with a thick lash. 

 Hers were straight like mine. Mine wasn't as thick as hers.

How do we fix this straight eyelashes? We CURL them!

It helps to open up your eyes and make those lashes more visible.

Your eyes are the window to your soul. It probably is one of your best features.

Therefore you have to frame it beautifully!

One of our morning routine is spent perfecting our eyelashes alone brushing the clumps otherwise we will end-up with a spidery eye.

We curl it, apply mascara, clean those smudges and at the end of the day removing them or wake-up looking like a raccoon.

One of the tricks I have learned years ago is what I will share with you today.

 Many of you probably when you curl your eyelashes counts from one to forever.

 This tricks will help curling a lot easier.

Chopstick trick:
Apply Mascara
Get your chopstick and heat it up with a lighter
Brush it on your lashes (make sure the temp wont burn your lids)
Now you wont need a curlash

Spoon trick:

Curling your lashes with spoon is an old trick used by women for hundreds of years.

So If you ever forget your curlash Dont worry, you can always use spoon.

 With the spoon's back facing ur lid.

Simply position the outer edge of the spoon against your lashline and use the force of your thumb against your lashes to create a curl. Starting from one end, press the underneath of your eyelashes firmly with your thumb against the edge of the spoon for about 10 seconds. Release your thumb, and then repeat the step until all sections of each eyelash reach the desired curl. Do not move the spoon while you press your eyelashes with your thumb in order to avoid any accidental pulling or breaking of your eyelashes.

 Things can get tricky and its all too easy to grab lid instead of lashes.

Warming-up the spoon with a blower or lighter will make the lash's curl stay longer.(Make sure you check the temp)

Apply mascara.

If you find the first two tricks hard, here is another one that would definitely help.

Heat-up your Curlash:
Before curling your lashes, take your blow dryer and heat-up the curlash.
Check the temperature on your wrist so you don’t burn your eyelids!
A warm curlash gives a long-lasting curl effect on your lashes.
Just like our hair tools.
Works on false lashes, too!

Now your windows are framed beautifully!

I am excited to share two tricks that I have found very helpful in controlling very oily skin and a very economical primer substitute. They are my go to product. I have been using them for quite a while now & I thought Id share them with you. It helped me a lot in controlling my CRAZY oiliness becoz we women CANNOT & SHOULD NOT be oily.

Milk of Magnesia.

(MOM) aka Magnesium Hydroxide

 It is commonly found in the laxative and antacid aisle of your local pharmacy. It's also a great topical treatment for the skin! It can be daily used as a "tonic drying to powder" to cut sweat & shine & absorb oil on your face, leaving you with matte finish. You can also use it as primer for your make-up or eyeshadow, blushes prevents clumping and facial oil bleeding on make-ups. How brilliant is that?!

Long-term use can help clear the skin of acne because magnesium is anti-inflammatory & gives the skin&body calming effect, controls stress-related oil-production. The alkaline hydroxide ions neutralizes the acidity on your skin, preventing the acid&oil-loving bacterias from hanging out in your pores and creating pimples.

Fierce Fantasy

I have an alone time again today and I figured I'd play with my make-ups. And here's what I came up with.........A Fierce Fantasy look.

I must admit that it is not easy to play make-up when you dont have the tools you need. You may be full of ideas and inspirations but not having the essentials can make it a little bit more tricky.

 Sometimes it gets depressing. But I have to practice with what I have and let my creative juices flow. Talent and resourcefulness comes hand in hand. I believe thats how Arts work. 

For this month, since halloween is coming up pretty soon. I am leaning towards creating more of a fantasy, fairy-ish make-up ideas.....

It is not as polished as hers...What can I say, I'm a work in progress. I'd have to practice MORE.

 Putting make-up on is like painting on a canvas. It takes a good eye and skill to come-up with good and inspiring ideas. It is Art, a form of expressing your self.

I am a huge fan of make-up. I love watching make-up tutorials and make-up gurus do their thing, it seemed magical how they can transform from plain and simple to a fabulous or fantasy look. I learned tricks/tips from them on how to improve the skill that I acquired from years of watching my mom in our humble family business, the salon. 

I pretty much grew up attending hairdresser and make-up artist's seminars and it never fail to mesmerize me when I see these talented stylists come-up with fantastic ideas that are really jaw-dropping. As a kid it is like seeing cinderella transform as I watch them on the runway.

I didnt have access to the internet back in the Philippines to update myself on make-ups and hairstyles. My knowledge comes from my experiences and Mom's training . 

When I came to US for marriage, I have all the time in the world to hop on the computer whenever I want. The tutorials are overwhelming. And I certainly LOVE IT!

It started with watching eyebrow shaping, hi-lites and I stumble upon really good gurus like Misschievous, Michelle Phan/Rice Bunny, Promise Phan....Their creations inspire me. The videos provides full-packed information. From where to get affordable tools, great finds, to product reviews. I totally admire their talent on make-up transformations. From celebrities to disney characters, looks for different seasons or look of the day.
